Local Eurekans David & Ethan Avanzino took ownership of the Wanderoo lodge in December 2020.

Scenario and Challenges

• Decline in business due to COVID-19
  Amidst the COVID-19 pandemic and international lockdowns, the greatest challenge for the new owners of the lodge was the business revival.
• Improving occupancy and revenue
  Although domestic travel had opened up, occupancy percentage was still considerably low during the initial weeks of December.
• Maintaining on-site safety and social distancing norms
  Social distancing and safety precautions were required to be prioritized to maintain the health of not just guests but also the staff.
• Absence of real-time integration with external systems
  Lack of integration with third-party systems such as a Channel Manager led to a delay in the flow of data that slowed down daily operations.

Wanderoo Lodge hosted eight long term guests in the month of January; including three remote working professionals.
